Online Censorship

During the VP debate JD brought up censorship. This may be me working in IT, but the internet is a big place and it's bigger than just three websites if you want to make and post online it's incredibly easy to create your own website on your own computer without needing Amazon web services. I understand that people are afraid of being censored or blocked, but in my mind it's more they're arguing for the easy megaphone rather than freedom of speech. It's hard to equate social media to the public square to me, you are writing data onto someone's hard drive not just saying words into the ether. What are your thoughts on the pivot to censorship?

JD Trump Influence

Saagar has mentioned how JD can influence Trump when it comes to policy even as much as possibly 25%. Trump is a man who has denied the literal election results and I don't know how that character would allow him to listen to anyone. Is it that he "might" do it?

Who do you think will win the election?

We are getting pretty close to the election, so who do you think will win?

Why do we focus so little on Helene, East Palestine, and other American disasters?

Why do you think Hurricane Helene has gotten so little attention at the national level? I would be inclined to say it could be because there are so many other events happening contemporaneously (Israel-Iran, Vice Presidential Debate, etc.). But this also happens with other disasters that happen in America, like the East Palestine train wreck, and the Baltimore bridge collapse. It becomes a national news story for a week or less and then disappears, while the local community that is directly impacted has to continue suffering the consequences for years. Is there a parsimonious way to explain why these stories fail to capture national attention for longer than a week?

Trump on Flagrant

Trump was recently on flagrant, I know Saagar has appeared on the podcast, what did you think when you listened?
